WPSD hosted 6 schools from 5 different states for the 2nd Annual 2016 ESDAA Soccer Tournament this weekend. Fanwood was in Pool B and faced Lexington School for the Deaf (LSD) in their first game on Friday, with a final score of 0-3.

Their second pool B game was against WPSD. Fanwood played hard, fighting through the rain and muddy field conditions, but ultimately lost the game with a final score of 0-2.

NYSD was placed last in Pool B andsoccer-2 faced Pool A’s Ohio School for the Deaf, on Saturday competing for 5th/6th place overall. In the end, NYSD lost the game with a final score of 0-2 and finished in 6th place overall at the 2016 ESDAA Soccer Tournament.

Senior, Carlos V., was one of the athletes awarded “All-Tournament Player”. Coaches Nicolas and Paul are very proud of the boys; even though the weather was terrible, they played hard from start to end and never gave up. At the end of tournament, the boys were banded together like a brotherhood and learned that they will be always be the Tornadoes, whether they come in first or last place.
