I Deaf News Visits Fanwood’s Nightmare Manor

Thank you to all those who dared to enter New York School for the Deaf’s 4th annual haunted house: Fanwood’s Nightmare Manor. This was a such a successful year for us with more attendees than ever before.

2014 NYSD Homecoming

TornadoesNYSD Students and staff members gathered on the athletic field last Friday for a pep rally to kick-off the 2014 Homecoming games!  During the pep rally, everyone watched as the 2014 Homecoming King and Queen were crowned…congratulations to Rosey A. and Wigner!

Before the pep rally ended, Executive Director, Dr. Janet Dickinson, alongside Principals, Barbara McRae Robinson and Rayburn Boland, accepted an Ice Bucket Challenge from CEASD to raise awareness of the importance of Deaf Education.

NYSD hosted Lexington School for the Deaf for their 2014 Homecoming game.  The Lady Tornadoes played well during the first set and they were able to complete many passes as a team.

Unfortunately, in the second set, NYSD made a few errors that ultimately cost them the game.

Alora earned one kill while Samantha earned one ace. This Tuesday, NYSD will travel to Hartford for a game against American School for the Deaf. Our current record is 4-3. Click Here for pictures from this season.

NYSD hosted Lexington School for the Deaf for their 2014 Homecoming game.  Despite the heavy rain, NYSD came ready to play and took a 2-1 lead by halftime.  In the second half, NYSD missed a penalty shot that would have tied the game, but ultimately left defeated with a final score of 3-2.
